The award winning entertainer recently revealed at a youth empowerment programme organized by First Bank of Nigeria on Friday 27th of December 2019, that he had to borrow one million naira to produce his first album.

“I collected a one millionaire loan when I wanted to release my first album. I didn’t know where the money to pay back was going to come from. I just thought that at worst, they would lock me up. You need to first believe that you can make it happen”.

Asked about the inspiration behind his hit song ‘Ponmile’, Reminisce said:”Ponmile is a song I worked on when someone shared with me a story of infidelity. I just decided to do something about that. It was a song out of my league and people had never seen me in that light singing. I just decided to do something different. I used the music video to address domestic violence”.

Reminisce also revealed that he didn’t plan to become an actor.

“I started acting by accident. Kemi Adetiba reached out to me ,Banky W also reached out to me on her behalf, telling me she would love to have me on-board for her movie. I told her I don’t act movies. She asked me why and I told her ‘you people don’t have money’. She persuaded me to look at the script and it went on and on for about six months. Kemi is a great woman; she didn’t give up on me. She kept sending people to me, to help her convince me to act in ‘King of Boys’ “.

The ‘Kako bi chicken’ crooner said he wasn’t sure how people were going to accept his role in ‘King of Boys’

“I didn’t attend the premiere of ‘King of Boys’ because I wasn’t sure about how people would respond to seeing me acting in the movie. I thought I didn’t do well in ‘King of Boys’ because I wasn’t sure of my performance. Suddenly I started seeing tweets of people commending me for my role in the movie”.
